ive got cramps on my thighs how do u get rid of them fast? How do you get rid of muscle cramps and any advice on running a marathon?
You get muscle cramps when running and drinking water. Either eat some foods with salt eg crackers after drinking water or drink gatorade. Also stretch b4 you runHow do you get rid of muscle cramps and any advice on running a marathon?
Increase you dietary potassium intake and take calcium-magnesium pills 3 times daily. Stay well hydrated. rest the muscles; stretch well before running. Optomize your diet.
I think the cramps you are experiencing are a result of doing too much too soon. If you are a new runner, the cramps you are experiencing are probably your body's way of telling you to slow down as well as the lactate forming. The more you run, the better your body will become in processing lactic acid. If you were getting side-stitches, I'd agree with the other answerer about watching how much fluid you are consuming.

Be sure you do some stretching before AND after you run. You don't have to do a whole lot, but just enough to get loose.

Also consider slowing your pace until you develop a little more experience in running. If you start to get thigh cramps during a run, back off on the intensity and if need be, do a bit of stretching.

After running cramps can be prevented by potassium (bananas) as well as proper hydration.

There are a plenty of websites and magazines dedicated to marathon training. Consider picking up a copy of Runners World or Running Times. In just about every other issue they have a marathon training plan. Here's a good website with a training plan: http://www.jeffgalloway.com/training/mar鈥?/a>

Good luck.
