How do you give support and advice?

I'm in a support forum and there is a position there called Support Leader. These people usually answer the emergency help topics.


I give okay advice to someone who is depressed but I've gotten told by the moderators that I'd be a good Support Leader.


If you could give me some links to sites where I could learn how to give better, more detailed advice that would be nice. I've tried looking for it in the search engines already.How do you give support and advice?
