How do you know what routine you should do at the gym with out paying tons of money for advice?

I want to start going to the gym. But i am lost when it comes to how much weight to use or which muscles to work and which machines to use or when? help!How do you know what routine you should do at the gym with out paying tons of money for advice?
Try talking to a personal trainer in advance and weighing all of your options. These days gyms are dying to get business so they will be more patient with you upfront before you join. Oh yeah. Don't sign any long term contracts either. They will sue you if you stop paying. Make sure its month to month. If you lose your job you may not be able to make good on a long term contract.





Be careful and read EVERYTHING they ask you to sign. I mean EVERYTHING and don't gloss over it.How do you know what routine you should do at the gym with out paying tons of money for advice?
usually people don't mind, you can ask them while at the gym if your doing excercises right. And do your own research using books, internate and other sources.
