Examples of resumes always enumerate at least 3 outstanding items, but most people just can't list them which is why they need help with their resumes in the first place.
For example, if you weren't able to get an internship and were turned down for volunteer work for lack of appropriate experience, or you weren't the captain of your college football team or president of the business club or school, etc.? Or you didn't save the last company a million dollars by discovering an accounting error or something?Does resume writing advice just make you feel more inadequate?
I'm sorry that they are making you feel inadequate. My guess is you are a new graduate, and resume helping advice on the web, and in print seems to leave out that part of the readership. They(authors of the advice) just aren't speaking to you is all.
I hope the website below can help.
In the meantime, don't worry about how outstanding your accomplishments are or aren't. You are young and employers don't expect you to be Superman just quite yet. Put your mediocre accomplishments down on your resume, like you were a member of the business club. You don't have to be President!

Would you take advice about medical problems from anyone other than a doctor?
I've noticed ppl ask specific advice for medical issues when they haven't consulted a doctor. I find this peculiar. I'm not talking about what to do for symptoms. Sometimes, ppl seem to want a diagnosis. Would you take this advice knowing that ppl may not be educated enough to answer? Why?Would you take advice about medical problems from anyone other than a doctor?
It would depend on the problem I had wrong, how serious it was if I would post it here or not. Sometimes people just want reassurance to find what others think from people that went through something similiar they want to mentally feel better I think. I'm an Ask-The-Expert on lymphedema and am very familiar with circulatory problems and also a disabled due to cancer, pharmacy asst so I can answer alot of questions based on my experience tho I'm not a doctor, I always tell people to go to the dr if it's something that seems like they need medical attention.
I think alot of people are scared of going to the dr and they just want to know what might be wrong before they go, like a reassurance thing. Like the woman who asked if a breast lump could be cancer, she's scared she found it and wants to hear of things it could be other than cancer but the bottom line is she needs to see the doctor to be sure but I think by posting her question she feels better because some will say it's a cyst, some hormonal, some benign tumor, and then others breast cancer so she finds out some things it could be to ease her mind before she goes.
the bottom line is tho, we don't know the people who answer, but the person asking is taking a risk if they rely just on answers and don't go to the doctor.Would you take advice about medical problems from anyone other than a doctor?
I wouldn't be stupid enough to even ask such a question as that here. Never!
I think people sometimes just want to talk about their problems here, somewhere to vent, maybe feel sorry for themselves or look for others who share similar problems. I sure hope they don't take the advice!
So, to answer your question, no, I would not because to solve medical problems you must talk indepth with a doctor, in person, one on one. After doing that you decide what to do with the advice he or she gives you.
I would probably take it into consideration, but definitely talk to a doc. Especially if it was someone I trusted, I would listen to what they said, they may have heard of it before or looked it up before. But, of course, discussing with a certified doctor is the best way to go.
I think anyone who asks the specific questions wants someone to either alleviate there fears or want to have an idea of what's wrong with them before going to the doctor.Or they just need someone to tell them that they need to seek professional help. I read a lot of them every day. You have to see the answers and make a judgment.....at least I hope people look at it like that.
It is not a good idea at all to take medical advice from anyone who is not educated in the field. Doctors may not always have the right answer immediately; and considering the years of education and experience they've got behind them that alone should scare the pants off you if you consider advice from someone who has neither.
Doctors see a myriad of illnesses; and take action on them every day. They have the training (and its tough training), the expertise, and the resources to deal with medical problems. No one else does.
You have one body; and most of it has only enough organs to perform the function they were made for. Any number of actions, neglect, and medications can destroy any number of those organs. See the doctor. Its a little expensive at times and a little bit of a nuiscance, but just imagine if you lost your kidneys, your liver, your lungs or your brain function just because you didn't want to deal with it.
I think it's kind of dumb to ask for a diagnosis online. I understand sometimes a doctor apointment is expensive and you may not want to go if it's nothing serious but if your peeing or pooping blood or something i'd def see a doctor for something like that.
people like to have answers and have a name for what's wrong with them, and will believe anyone who seems to have knowledge or experience with a similar issue, especially if the person states this with a confident tone. you'd be amazed at what you can make people believe if you say it like you know what you're talking about.
i see patients all the time who come in convinced they have X disease and need Y treatment or medication because someone they knew had it or they heard about it on TV. co-workers and friends tell them with such conviction that they will tell me flat out i am wrong and threaten to sue if i don't confirm what some layperson has told them. often they have something else (or nothing at all). many completely different disease processes have similar symptoms, so people without formal training often let their own experience color their opinions.
it's real easy to think you can diagnose something if you saw it on an episode of ';house';, but honestly patients rarely present with the collection of obvious symptoms that are portrayed in that show or even the medical reality shows.
bottom line: take all advice from non-medical profesisonals with a grain of salt.
The last time I went to a doctor he charged me a week's pay for five minutes of his time, ignored the obvious problem and wanted me to see his buddy, an even more expensive specialist, for a totally unrelated imaginary disease.
Never take medical advice from anyone except a doctor that you go to as a patient.
Many illnesses, diseases, etc are unique, have various symptoms, etc which make only medical practitioners capable of diagnosing the problem a necessity.
People who ask for and get medical advice in this venue need one specific medical practitioner, a shrink -
Doctors know allot but they are only human, the medical training a doctor has is never 100% and they are trained by other human beings. But listening to peoples personal experiences is a great way to learn new ideas and information. More than a few times I found taking a doctors advice to be worse than listening to my own common sense. I like to listen to any information I can get then I use my own knowledge to decided what is best, sometimes the doctors advice is the best choice, sometimes it can be from another average person. Allot of the time doctors will aether tell you to use such and such drug, or say you need surgery. I am a person who prefers a natural solution to a health problem and try to do all I can to keep healthy, I am proud to say I have never needed drugs in my life. Drugs can often cause more harm then good.......
I think it's a sign of how broken our health care system is. People don't want to go to the doctor because it's expensive, it's time consuming, and they are concerned about the quality of care they'll get there. At least the advice here is free!

Is there any advice you want to give me before i clean all 3 of my domestic drains?
I.e Preventation from blocking again.
I.e Preventation from smelling again.
OK - wish me luck.Is there any advice you want to give me before i clean all 3 of my domestic drains?
ALWAYS drink half a bottle of gin before facing horrible tasks - it won't make them any easier to handle - but you'll look forward to them coming round again!Is there any advice you want to give me before i clean all 3 of my domestic drains?
once a month dry around the plugs in you sink etc, pour down some bicarb of soda then wash down with white vinegar......watch it clean... prevents blocking, smells and is great fun to watch..... try it, i do mine all the time....you wont believe how good it is...good luck and let me know how you get on...
f
Only advice I can give is hold your nose :)
Oh and prehaps be a bit more careful what you put down them next time.
Save yourself the hassle, call Dynorod - they're good and they give a guarantee
Call a plumber. Don't poison yourself with the fumes
A Friend of mine is a plumber and warned me the danger's of putting anything down the drains to clean them, especially the chemicals you buy on the shelf (Mr Muscle etc) because all these will do is congeal at the bottom of your wavin pipe, and before all you people start accusing plumbers of just saying this so they can get the work believe me they don't like being called out to unblock drains. I'd agree with calling Dyno Rod or if your not afraid of the smell and the shite unscrew the big plastic nut under the u-bend and start cleaning. Don't follow the advice of mixing anything and watching it evaporate your shite cause your only asking for long term trouble.
wear a clothes pin on your nose.
Put some gloves on. If it really keeps blocking, you might be better to get someone to shove a drain rod through.
Good luck.

Does the bad advice about drinking that gets chosen as best answer amaze you also?
I'm amazed and disgusted almost daily around here. The stupid or downright wrong answers being chosen over the helpful, accurate and correct ones for best answer, the ';How do I get a fake ID?'; or ';How can I buy booze?'; questions that don't get deleted, the drug questions, the ';I'm drunk, hehehe...'; questions, etc.
If it weren't for the few people that are actually looking for help, and the few of us that actually put some effort into our answers, I probably wouldn't be here anymore. I don't even bother opening up probably 80% of the questions in this category anymore, there's no point in even wasting my time with them.Does the bad advice about drinking that gets chosen as best answer amaze you also?
Scan this section, you see bad/wrong ';advice'; all the time. Vodka is still made from potatoes. Tequila has a worm in it. A ten year old bottle of Jack will be stronger then one new from a store. Etc.
In some ways, I am amazed that people can really be that dumb. On the other hand, at least there is a place now where we can ';enlighten'; those that need it. Perhaps if the truth is told often enough the false beliefs will pass away.Does the bad advice about drinking that gets chosen as best answer amaze you also?
People amaze me everyday all day lol
Yeah. There's a lot of bad information about drinking.
Many people just learn things from movies or mainstream media, which is sometimes total BS.
Some just ask questions to reinforce their (often false) beliefs and not really to learn the correct answer, so don't take it personally.
Cheers.
I'm partly amazed and partly reinforced in my cynicism. I guess part of what keeps me answering is to give myself an excuse to find new answers to questions I don't already know the answer to, and to try to help out those who appear to have a genuine interest.
I, too, tune out the crap like ';how much of ... does it take to make me drunk'; or ';how long before I can pass a drug test'; ...and the list goes on.
...not to mention all the questions about alchol, alcohal, alcahole, etc.
OY!
Yes, lets all become alcohols and die of alcohol poisoning. You really need to lighten up. Nobody loves to drink me than myself. Learn how to understand sarcasm.
maybe the moron can't do the math ....24 ounces of alcohol in a six pack, what difference does it make how much water.
It's subjective. You think the answer is poor, but the asker liked it.
Go figure.
people on high horses tend to put others down so people have to stick up for themselves besides in voting on here it is all rigged
i agree with brandi

How do you control the children you babyst? And any advice on starrting a daycare?
I babysit a 2 year old potty training boy and a 4 year old girl. They are my second cousins and they both used to love me. But lately, the girl is getting very bossy and always says ';your not my boss'; and ';Abby i dont like you'; but then 10 minutes later she'll tell me she loves me and she wants to do stuff with me. Is it just a stage or am i doing something wrong? Also, the boy is usually pretty good but he wants to be so independant. Is there anyway i can hold him back while letting him go? Like he wants to use ';big boy'; scissors but i tell him no because he still wears a ';babies'; diaper. I also want to start a daycare when in about 4 years any advice on that? I try to keep the kids i babysit on a scedule involving learning time and crafts before lunch and afterwards they get free play and sometimes a field trip.
Any answers given are appreciated!How do you control the children you babyst? And any advice on starrting a daycare?
owning a daycare is a huge responsibility. You have tofind a place that will fill all of the requirements and regulations. There are a ton of them. You should have an idea of some kids you could have in your daycare. You cant just start a daycare. There are a lot of things that have to take place. You have to have a license to do it and all of your clearances. I worked at a daycare that a friend of mine owned and it is a lot of work and it is very time consuming. Plan on spending at least 12 hours at the daycare with the kids for awhile. Being open from 6am until 6pm is a very good idea. Good Luck!!
You'll need a bathroom with steps for the smaller kids. You have to wear gloves when you change the kids. Dont serve lunch it makes things a lot easier if the parents pack the lunches. Also the parents provide their childs diapers and wipes. Swim diapers also are provided by the parents. The kids need at least 1 extra set of clothes at the daycare. electric plugs have to be covered. No broken toys. No sharp edges. small toys have to be at least 2 inches by 2 inches. Especially for the small children. A lot of books... Kids love books. Fenced in yard. Dont have a cement play ground or bark... too many injuries. Make sure the staff actually gets along. Your staff has to have cpr training, first aid, fire safety, criminal clearance, and child abuse clearance. Also have the parents provide sleeping mats for the older kids and a pack and play for babies. Locks on cabinets so kids cant get into them. Only rated G movies cause some parents are real anal about pg movies. Sing songs... Oh! Bubbles. Kids love bubbles. race tracks are a big hit or train tracks. doll houses.. OK I am sorry if this went on too long I was trying to tell u everything I could think of!How do you control the children you babyst? And any advice on starrting a daycare?
I do daycare- 4 yr old girl-- its most likely the age-- nothing you are doing wrong. As for starting a daycare-- yeah, having a schedule is best -- set rules.... and stick with them -- (no jumping on the couch- no balls inside- use your quiet voices indoors- (so you don't have kids screaming constantly).....
stick with rules -- whatever they may be for you.
email me at ladysosureone@yahoo.com i had 3 daycare for 5 yrs but to tired to give all the needed info this eve ty sandy
lots of activities are good and out door play as far as these children they are related to you they are going to test you to see if they get away with it

How do you get rid of muscle cramps and any advice on running a marathon?
ive got cramps on my thighs how do u get rid of them fast?How do you get rid of muscle cramps and any advice on running a marathon?
You get muscle cramps when running and drinking water. Either eat some foods with salt eg crackers after drinking water or drink gatorade. Also stretch b4 you runHow do you get rid of muscle cramps and any advice on running a marathon?
Increase you dietary potassium intake and take calcium-magnesium pills 3 times daily. Stay well hydrated. rest the muscles; stretch well before running. Optomize your diet.
I think the cramps you are experiencing are a result of doing too much too soon. If you are a new runner, the cramps you are experiencing are probably your body's way of telling you to slow down as well as the lactate forming. The more you run, the better your body will become in processing lactic acid. If you were getting side-stitches, I'd agree with the other answerer about watching how much fluid you are consuming.
Be sure you do some stretching before AND after you run. You don't have to do a whole lot, but just enough to get loose.
Also consider slowing your pace until you develop a little more experience in running. If you start to get thigh cramps during a run, back off on the intensity and if need be, do a bit of stretching.
After running cramps can be prevented by potassium (bananas) as well as proper hydration.
There are a plenty of websites and magazines dedicated to marathon training. Consider picking up a copy of Runners World or Running Times. In just about every other issue they have a marathon training plan. Here's a good website with a training plan: http://www.jeffgalloway.com/training/mar鈥?/a>

How do you try to tell someone you love that they really need to listen to the other doctors advice?
My boyfriend has a heart condition and yesterday went to the doctor to get checked. They did a cardiogram on him and he was on the verge of possibly having a heartattack. He is not allowed to go to work until he is cleared by a cardiologist. I love him and would hate to see his health fail due to stubborness. Help Please!How do you try to tell someone you love that they really need to listen to the other doctors advice?

Can you give advice on fixing a chair?
Just inherited one used office chair. It is solid enough, but the leather back and seat are torn.
What would be the easiest and most cost effective (cheapest) way to make its appearance pleasant?
I plan to use it in my study.
Does not need to look like a million bucks, but it also does not need to look like a million pigeons have used it either. (It does now)
Thanks in advance.Can you give advice on fixing a chair?
go to your local fabric store and get some vinyl covering, looks like leather, stretch it right over whats there and staple in place on the underside for the seat.
for the back, do the same thing but secure it in place with upholstery tacks like these

How do you take care of a common goldfish? advice and tips please?
im thinking about of purchasing one fish and i wanna know what can i do to ensure the best life for fishy?How do you take care of a common goldfish? advice and tips please?
While a commet gold fish does get large they certainally do not need a 50 gallon tank. You should always get the largest tank you can afford. They do need a tank with good filtration. NO HEATER. Comets (common) are cold water fish and prefer the temps below 75. The water should not drop below 50 or your fish will go into hybernation.
Goldfish need a balanced diet. When choosing a fish food choose one with high protein (48% or better) and low fat (5% or less)
You can supplement their diet with things like Lettuce, mustard greens, turnip greens, collard greens, spinach, peas, endive, Watersprite, seaweed, cukes, kale, chard, broccoli, lima beans, green beans, etc. and feed aquatic plants (e.g. duckweed, azolla, salvenia, etc) or hair algae daily.
For their Carotenoids which are a family of pigments the fish can't make themselves and are obtained as part of the diet. These pigments result in red, yellow and orange colors. Fish have cells called chromataphores. Those cells convert lutein and carotenes into astaxanthin which is the red pigment.
sources include, brine shrimp, krill, spirulina, marigold flowers, paprika, sweet red peppers, yams, carrots, pumpkin
Watermellons and oranges are also good as well as proteins like chicken (chicken livers) beef (livers and parts) and pork as well as worms and bugs.
Be sure to do your weekly 25% water change.
Also be sure your tank is fully cycled before you get your fish.
Welcome to the wonderful world of fish and good luck!How do you take care of a common goldfish? advice and tips please?
Good for you researching before you but. Common goldfish need a minimum of 180 gal tank as they get over 2 feet in length. Fancy goldfish on the other hand stay around 8'; and a single fish can be kept in a 20 gal tank with 10 gals added for each additional fish. Goldfish are coldwater fish so you will not need a heater. They are also very high waste producers so you will need double filtration for the tank. In other words if you have a 20gal tank you need a filter rated for at least a 40 gal tank. Some varieties are prone to swim bladder problems which can be aggravated by feeding at the waters surface for those species you will need a sinking pellet rather than a flake food. Also be prepared to do biweekly partial water changes at least at first. As the tank matures you may be able to cut back a bit. If you choose to keep live plants stick with the hardy species with the tougher leaves such as java ferns and anubius as goldfish tend to damage more delicate species
BASICS
get a tank not a bowl! set it up, add water and put in some water treatment to remove chlorine, chlorine in tap water will kill fish. leave the tank for 3 weeks before you add any fish, this is because fish need good bacteria to survive as they produce alot of waste which turns into ammonia and this kills the fish. You really do need to let the tank settle for a few weeks before you add fish trust me I know from experiance.
Once you get your fish add 2 max to start with and take out 25% of the water every week for the first 4 weeks and replace it with new clean dechlorinated water.
Feed once or twice a day and change 25% of the water every 2-3 weeks after the initial first 4 weeks.
The basic things you need to know about fish, and I would start with cold water fish not tropical until you get used to looking after them as fish are not as easy to care for as they seem.
The water quality is the most important thing, fish need good water to survive, it needs a balanced PH level and must contain no ammonia or nitrite as long as the water is fine and you must test it before you add any fish and weekly after that fish will live hapily and stress free. Bad water quality and the fish will get sick and die, the main cause of poor water is bad filteration, not enough water changes and too much ammonia.i myself have lived and learned. I always thought you stuck a fish in water and thats it after you feed it. My experiance has taught me otherwise.
So buy a tank set it up, leave it 3 weeks, test water, if all is fine add 2 fish and just change water and test weekly to fortnightly. oh and feed them once or twice a day too lol.
If this is your first fish, I'd suggest going with something like a betta, or even guppies--something that requires less room and less filtration. Other than that, what everyone has said is 100% true.
Get a 50 gallon tank, or install a pond in your yard and get a goldfish!
Actually, people ALWAYS say that keeping goldfish in small tanks is a horrible, terrible thing, BUT,.... it depends on how small the tank is!
I'd say a ten gallon is your absolute MINIMUM for 1 goldfish, and notice I say ONE!
Basically, you should get 1 goldfish for every 10 gallons, but some people don't agree with this.
So just to be on the safe side, I would get a 20 gallon, with a 30 gallon power filter, gravel, a couple plants, and NO heater!
Feed your goldfish about once a day but DO NOT overfeed!
Hope this helps!
Good luck!
Get a Tank:
About 5-7 gallons for a gold fish.
Try a starter kit like this one, so you know what to get your fish:
http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.js鈥?/a>
Clean its cage, feed it.
Pretty much it!!!
Depending on the size of the tank, change no more than 1/3 of the water at a time and do not forget to use chlorine remover or they will not survive.
I have goldfish and they are all well and I haven't lost one in more than 4 years. If you have 1 only I believe it is better to get two so they have company. Get the same kind. If you keep them in a bowl, make sure it is large enough to keep two. Clean the water out weekly and use an oxygen block and a little oxygen weed. Use the correct cemicals to get rid of the chlorine in the H20. Ask where you buy the fish to explain everything to you and buy a book on how to look after goldfish. But two makes the difference than just keeping 1.You will njoy them. Talk to them and pay attn to them everyday. I feed mine just a little bit of food every morning. They get used to routine and do pine if you are away so make sure you able to give them some time and talk to them and put your finger in the bowl so they get used to you. It works
Get it a tank not a bowl, with pebbles, maybe a plant.
get it a light, so it will be warm
and feed it once or twice a day.
All these answers have some validity to them, don't know why so many thumbs down.

What advice would you give to Romeo and Juliet on what they should do?
This is one of my question I have to do for a paper.
~~~
What should Romeo and Juliet do about their relationship?
Please include one or both answers..What advice would you give to Romeo and Juliet on what they should do?
Improving their communication skills and putting their relationship ahead of any family disputes would have been a good start.
What advice would you give to a compulsive gambler?
If someone close to you came to you and told you they had a gambling problem, that they couldn't control it and that it was ruining their life. What would you say to them? Would you understand? Would you sympathize, or would you criticize?
(Be very honest as how you would handle it. How would you truly react?)What advice would you give to a compulsive gambler?
someone is right - you have a rarity! you have a good situation- dont screw it up on your end -
you have a gambler who hasnt hit rock bottom but is crying out for help!
most gamblers are great at self denial - and making things out to be rosier than they are!
if they admit they have a problem and its bad and they feel they cant control it, you have to sympathize - if you dismiss the notion, they can really lose it and spiral down a self destructive pattern. You can criticize and argue personal responsibility another time, there is help groups and things to occupy your friends time that will limit the opportunites he will have to gamble
Not saying meetings and groups are are a cure all or even are for everybody, but if he really thinks and admits its ruining him and he cant control it , the meetings and support groups would probably do someone with that mindset some good!!!!!!
Hope this helps:)What advice would you give to a compulsive gambler?
I have learned from my great amoutn of time spent in casinos, that you cannot reason with a compulsive gambler. I Feel the best approach woudl be forcefull intervention.
I would keep a close watch on their wearabouts, and whiel doing it, i would make them learn the concept of house advantages, and how an incresed number of trials yeilds a probibility of losing that approaches 100%.
In addition, i wou point out how, and why compulsive gamblers are ostracised form the world, and disliked by others
I would tell them that this problem is too big for them to try to fix by themselves. I would suggest they get with a therapist, and join a local support group like Gambler's Anonymous (GA).
I'd suggest they visit the GA website and ask themselves these questions from the site:
TWENTY QUESTIONS
1. Did you ever lose time from work or school due to gambling?
2. Has gambling ever made your home life unhappy?
3. Did gambling affect your reputation?
4. Have you ever felt remorse after gambling?
5. Did you ever gamble to get money with which to pay debts or otherwise solve financial difficulties?
6. Did gambling cause a decrease in your ambition or efficiency?
7. After losing did you feel you must return as soon as possible and win back your losses?
8. After a win did you have a strong urge to return and win more?
9. Did you often gamble until your last dollar was gone?
10. Did you ever borrow to finance your gambling?
11. Have you ever sold anything to finance gambling?
12. Were you reluctant to use ';gambling money'; for normal expenditures?
13. Did gambling make you careless of the welfare of yourself or your family?
14. Did you ever gamble longer than you had planned?
15. Have you ever gambled to escape worry, trouble, boredom or loneliness?
16. Have you ever committed, or considered committing, an illegal act to finance gambling?
Most compulsive gamblers will answer yes to at least seven of these questions.
My advice is probably the wrong advice to give and it might not help so take it with a grain of salt. What I would tell them is if they are losing they need to stop gambling and save their money. Do not double down or any foolishness like that trying to remake the money you've lost. Listen, why put more money on a losing system. Only, only, only, only gamble when you are winning. Never bet it all, or more than you can afford to lose. Just get it through your head, if you are losing, you have a losing system. Wait until you have a winning system and can prove it's a winning system before you bet.
You've got more power than you know. This is a HUGE step for someone like this to admit this to you.
Tell them you will go WITH them to a few meetings if you're really a friend. Work together with them to find help. This is not an easy problem for them. They could easily continue down this path until they are completely ruined.
Your friend only THINKS they are at rock bottom right now. It can always get worse.
If you're a friend, help them out. Find some help and get them to some meetings.
I would tell them to stop the gambling and haul their a** to alcohol's anonymous and that I would even take them and stay with them throughout the meeting.
Sometimes even the ones you care for need tough love...
';you need a cash out,, and stop tearing the town, don't be a baby remember what you told me...';
oops,,,did I just sang ';waking up in vegas';... lol
What advice would you have wanted in making your transition from college to working world?
I understand how hard it was for me to be taken seriously and make a name for myself, so I am conducting research to create an assistance business for college graduates to ease their transition to the working world.What advice would you have wanted in making your transition from college to working world?
Advice...
#1 Though it has nothing to do with work, I wish someone would have taught me about Personal Finance. I finally learned about Personal Finance when I took an elective for my MBA about 5 years after my undergrad. If my undergrad taught me about investing, saving, and various investment vehicles, I would have been much richer. If there is one thing I'd recommend doing to help young people, teach them how to make their money work for them, not them work for their money.
#2 I wish someone would have told me that I am smart, but I don't know anything yet. When you get into the corporate world, what I learned meant ';0';. Companies have their own ways of doing things and they work with technologies not taught in school. Be patient and learn from the veterans. It may take a year or two before you actually feel useful in the company.
#3 A piece of advice I that was given to me was by the Dr/teacher who ran the MBA program I was in. When we finished the last class (which he taught), he told us, ';You are graduating now with your MBA, now go learn something';. What did he mean? Education will get you far, but learn a trade as a backup in life. There are things people will always need...auto mechanics, pilots, ship captains, wood workers, etc... Take some time, go to the local community college, and gain some practical knowledge in an area that will always be needed. (This advice is really hitting home now that we are seeing mass quantities of white collar jobs leaving the US)
#4 Keep your mouth shut. The rumor mill and the ';telephone'; game in the corporate world was like nothing I had ever seen. If more than 1 person knows, everyone knows. Nothing travels faster than gossip through a company (and family as well).
#5 After a year of working, if you like your job and like the area, dive in and buy a place to live. Maybe all you can afford is a 2 bedroom condo, but rarely will you lose money on real estate if you hold on for more than 5 years (most times, you can make money in as little as a year). Start small and cheap so you can learn what it takes to run a house.
L advice on how do you stop childd support payment on a child that is over 21 ?
I have been paying on my reara since 1995.L advice on how do you stop childd support payment on a child that is over 21 ?
it will not stop(arrears)until the arrears are paid, the ';child's'; age does not matterL advice on how do you stop childd support payment on a child that is over 21 ?
file motion in court, only option, arrears are arrears and only the court can stop a court order, Does this payment detrimentally affect you now, court can reduce the arrears amount, if the other parent was on state benefits while u were not paying and you were able to pay back then and chose not to, the court can take that into consideration cause u r really paying the state back and not the family anymore, and the state wants their money cause it took care of your child for you.
Now, if you were unemployed, sick or in prison during that time, when u file the motion make sure they know u were incapable of paying those years. if u r poor, u can file this yourself, for free .
The duty to pay is established by court order. The order says when to stop. If it doesn't, then apply to the court. Many judges will say that you must pay the same amount but that the difference goes to pay off the arrears more quickly.
The arrears occurred when the 21 year old was a minor and not an adult. They have to be paid off even if it takes until the 'child' is 35. You must have been quite far behind.
What advice do you think george washington would give Barack Obama?
what advice do u think 1st president george washington would give 44th president barack obama...think back to Washington's Farewell Speech i guess...i think he would tell him to pull the troops from iraq !What advice do you think george washington would give Barack Obama?
After George was finished being amazed by the Wizardry of technology (cell phones, computers, stealth fighters, automobiles, air planes, etc.) and then astounded that the US was in the same financial condition as many third world countries (minus our ability to borrow without end) he would advise Obama to focus first and foremost on issues at home but not to neglect our friends and allies (or enemies) abroad.
I believe Obama is doing these things but as always the devil is in the details.
PsiexplorationWhat advice do you think george washington would give Barack Obama?
The founding fathers are rolling in their graves.
You don't want to know what Washington would say let alone do to obama, I personally think he would whoop his $%%
Washington was a freedom loving European male capitalist. obama is the exact opposite of that.
America wake up! we are swimming new waters..
He would give the same advice as Thomas Jefferson;
';The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.';
';I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.';
George washington looked at him (barack), a frown upon his head:
He walked right up to him, and this is what heeee said:
';...president, you say? Get back to work! You haven't even finished picking my cotton yet!';
=============
and now, ';when generations collide';, part 2...
George Washington: Call all the countries of the world and get the to attack Iraq at the same time and sent in spies like I did!
I held onto the war for 8 years with spies I was nicknamed the Spy Master!
Obama: Thats a crazy and old idea but i'll take it
RESIGN! You have no experience and no leadership skills and you are not an American, you should be Bit** slapped for not saluting the American flag, and you are the weakest link goodbye!
George washington would tell Obama not to make permanent relations with other countries (which he did say in his farewell address). Obviously, many presidents didn't listen to Washington.
Don't have nothing to do with these stinking white powdered wigs and wooden false teeth. Oh Obama also kick some Arab buttocks for Ole George.
His advice would be to do regular flossing, A regular trip to the dentist is very important to a bright healthy smile.
Yes, probably, and then get into a boat and cross the Potomac!
He would tell him to cut capital gains taxes!!!!!! Shrink government and shoot Nancy pa-idiot.
He would probably simply tell him to stay true to his principles.
Run! Run away! And never return!
He would say ';A black guy is the president!??? That's it I am moving to Canada.';
Quit plagiarizing me!
Go back to Kenya where you were born.
After George was finished being amazed by the Wizardry of technology (cell phones, computers, stealth fighters, automobiles, air planes, etc.) and then astounded that the US was in the same financial condition as many third world countries (minus our ability to borrow without end) he would advise Obama to focus first and foremost on issues at home but not to neglect our friends and allies (or enemies) abroad.
I believe Obama is doing these things but as always the devil is in the details.
PsiexplorationWhat advice do you think george washington would give Barack Obama?
The founding fathers are rolling in their graves.
You don't want to know what Washington would say let alone do to obama, I personally think he would whoop his $%%
Washington was a freedom loving European male capitalist. obama is the exact opposite of that.
America wake up! we are swimming new waters..
He would give the same advice as Thomas Jefferson;
';The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not.';
';I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.';
George washington looked at him (barack), a frown upon his head:
He walked right up to him, and this is what heeee said:
';...president, you say? Get back to work! You haven't even finished picking my cotton yet!';
=============
and now, ';when generations collide';, part 2...
George Washington: Call all the countries of the world and get the to attack Iraq at the same time and sent in spies like I did!
I held onto the war for 8 years with spies I was nicknamed the Spy Master!
Obama: Thats a crazy and old idea but i'll take it
What advice do you wish you could share with your dorky friend?
What would you like to say to your unfortunate friend, but you will never say it, because you're not a big enough a** to say it to their face. Things like ';shower'; and ';hair product.';What advice do you wish you could share with your dorky friend?
Shower.....important...
hair product.....not so much...
clean clothes....pressed and neat
the basic....
frills.....eh.....What advice do you wish you could share with your dorky friend?
if i had a friend that had a hygiene problem as you describe there are a couple of ways i would try first before going the direct way.why not invite her to go swimming with you .you will both have fun and could make it a regular thing.sport is always good.if she can`t swim you could pretend you can`t swim and ask her for moral support to go with you to swimming lessons .or how about synchronize swimming or aqua sport.re the hair products you could have a pajama party or beauty party together or with friends and experiment together the various hair products.who knows what for fun you might have together.when that doesn`t work then i`m afraid it must be the direct approach.but i can tell you one thing if i had a hygiene problem i would sooner hear it from a friend than a stranger or to find out that other people are talking about me behind their back.
';Tweezers';
';Deodorant';
';Face Wash';
Those are all for different people though.
Wax your damn eyebrows, get contacts and visit MAC for a consultation immediately!
What advice do you have for a parent who has no use for the person her daughter married?
Always liked this guy until the last year. I watched my daughter give up every dream she has had for this person. She is only 18 and ran around on him all summer with different guys and then he comes home on marine 10 day leave and boom they get married.Im in shock. I really dont care if I ever lay eyes on him or his parents.but I dont want to alienate my daughter.What advice do you have for a parent who has no use for the person her daughter married?
You can just be there for her.
Give this marriage a chance, even though they are both young.
But I would tell her, please, be careful , do not get with child, for her to enjoy being married, and getting to know her new friends and family.
Treat this as a adventure... a lifes lesson.
Look my son got a girl pregnant when he was 19 and her 16. It was a Huge mess...and still is , but I got a beautiful intelligent 7 year old granddaughter out of it. It is a experience I would not change...What advice do you have for a parent who has no use for the person her daughter married?
To clear up a couple of things,he is in training not depolyed and I totally am upset with my daughters actions..it only shows she does not love him..I do not like him because he is a lying manuplating calculating punk, and I have no respect for either of them, but she is my daughter..
Wow, it seems crazy. Hun, your daughter is now shifting into an adult and yes it is sad to see her dreams vanished because of a quick desicion. But just because she is married doesn't mean she can't go to college or university.
Will she regret getting married perhaps when the time comes. However she might not regret it and end up spending the rest of her life in happy wedlock.
Try to be pleasent to him, he is now part of the family and it would hurt her more if you pretend he isn't there or acknowledge her husband.
As for his parents have you thought perhaps they feel the same way about your daughter and the situation.
Be a woman and just be happy for your daughter.
As a woman in a relationship with a Marine Recruit, I am saddened to hear that she ran around on him all summer. What is it that HE did to make you dislike him so much? I would be upset with your daughter, not her husband. If you love your daughter you'll support her or you will lose her. My mother and father were quick to realize this when the found that I am to be married in the next year and a half to my boyfriend and they changed a lot. Just love her like you don't care. It is the best for you both.
I don't get it, quite frankly....you have no 'use' for your new son-in-law but it was your daughter who was running around and cheating on him behind his back, while he was in the service of our country.
wow.
Her dreams? if she was serious about her dreams she would have been concentrating on them while her then fiance was deployed, not running about with other men.
You need to re-examine the way you are thinking, Toots....with her history, your daughter is lucky the guy married her at all.
you have to be there for her no matter what because then she will resent you. but it is only fair for you to be able to tell her how u feel and make her aware of your concerns but in the end it is her life. if you did your job well she will be fine.
I was in the same problem but I was the teen involved the only thing you can do is be there for her. Try anything else she will leave and you won't know nothing at what is going on. this away you still have some sayprinter cartridge
What advice would you give a handicap person who is about to receive $200,000?
I need help giving a friend some advice about what to do with her money. What type of investmets should she make, knowing that this would be her only source of income for her whole life due to an accident that left her handicap. The woman has two sons, one in college the other stilll in middle school, she can't work, and needs to be smart about using this money.Please be specificWhat advice would you give a handicap person who is about to receive $200,000?
One of the best things she can do is invest in a paid off home to live in. I'm guessing she gets some kind of monthly disability or social security check each month as well? She can probably purchase a decent home or condo for under $100k (a cash offer will get her a better buy) or pay off her current home. That will eliminate rent or mortgage payments each month. Put about $75k in an IRA or other retirement account with the remaining $25k in a savings account.
She should try to budget herself monthly - food, medicine, insurance, and property taxes. Work this out in advance. It's a lot cheaper to live without worrying about rent.
Also, if she gets in a scrape down the line, her property probably would have appreciated in value and she can sell it as a last resort. (Be sure to keep up maintenance, however!)What advice would you give a handicap person who is about to receive $200,000?
Invest in fixed deposit,mutual fund, monthly income scheme.
However you can consult a financial expert at websites like
What's the best advice you ever had about love and relationships?
Did you take any notice?
How did it work out for you?What's the best advice you ever had about love and relationships?
Always trust your first instincts.
Yes.
Good.What's the best advice you ever had about love and relationships?
my best advice was from myself lol, and that is, do everything you can to make it work (assuming you want it to) that way you will have no regrets.
yes i took notice and it is working great, somethings aren't meant to be but i regret absolutely nothing!
i tried my hardest and spoke my mind and have never looked back thinking i wish i could've done more.
just don't rush into it
i took it as meaning - don't start too early and bear in mind when you feel you are ready don't do it just because other people say that they have done something.
never did me any harm at all
on the other hand i'm only 16 so it hsn't had much time to even if it was hehe
Love has no rational reasoning it just happens when you least expect it .Follow your heart .Nurture it and watch it grow..Enjoy the relationship and be happy while you are in it .Remain positive and supportive for your partner.Always make them feel loved, needed and desired..Keep the spice in the relationship...
I will let you know...
A woman I worked with said to me that if he's good in bed and is your friend that's all you need! :)
My mother's saying is ';this too will pass';. It's a great one to think of when you're heartbroken over something!
from my mum
love is blind but marriage is an eye opener meaning
you think you can live with someone untill you try it
no who listens to any one when you are in love?
No one is perfect
Love takes time
Love = best friend + sex
it worked out well.
i was told to follow my heart, the heart never lies. i did and it got me married and divorced within 4 years.
What if the president of your country asked you for your advice?
They would like to help the poor people leave behind their traditional technology so that they can take advantage of better health care and deal with people coming into there territory. What would you suggest that would be given to these people to hellp them change their way of life for the better.....What if the president of your country asked you for your advice?
1. Build more teaching hospitals that provide scholarships to interns in medical education in exchange for service in public health care. Reduce class sizes in schools to create more jobs for more teachers while providing better education and individual attention to students. Promote peer mediation and means for school communities to vote on or decide their own policies on prayer and religion, sex education, creation/evolution, etc.
2. Create a federal banking program, modeled after the federal reserve, where loans are issued in the form of notes against the debt owed to victims of fraud and civil rights violations. This would allow taxpayers to be paid back for corruption or malfeasance by government or corporate wrongdoing, such as Enron. And the loans could be used to finance rebuilding of impoverished areas to help low-income people to become owners of land, homes and businesses. Microlending is not a handout, but promotes financial education and training, and could eventually replace the current welfare system. Microfinancing to promote property and business ownership would also be a feasible alternative to reparations for slavery; but restitution for all civil rights violations could be provided this way.
3. Expand the Justice Dept. into the Dept. of Peace and Justice. Create and train a peace force of civilian volunteers to work with leaders and citizens in oppressed or at-risk areas to prevent war and violence. Add ';mediation and consensus'; to the choices along with ';trial by judge'; and ';trial by jury.'; Add a third house of Congress based on ';proportional representation'; by party, where all groups have representation, and any one or any group can propose legislation, but bills are written by joint committees and endorsed by consensus. So the point is for opposing groups to work out the issues that divide them and create legislation that fairly represents the whole public, not one side over the other.
4. I would allow and encourage the President and Vice President to come from different parties to balance the ticket. I would recommend using the President's position to focus on external affairs, or foreign policy; and use the Vice President position to focus on internal affairs or domestic policy. As President of the Senate, the Vice President can make sure there is consensus among the 100 Senators on legislation that touches on ';church and state'; issues such as gay marriage, the death penalty/abortion/euthanasia, school prayer and evolution/creation, immigration and war, etc. in order to prevent any religious imposition by one group over another. For example, in order to remove the unfair bias against women in criminalizing abortion, I would propose legislation that holds men responsible for the consequences of sex, by making it a lesser degree of rape (punishable by mandatory counseling or other restitution) if sex results in an unwanted child, unwanted pregnancy or unwanted abortion or other injury to the woman.
5. Foreign policy -- Define a civil procedure by which minority states can petition for independence from the parent country WITHOUT bloodshed, war or violence. Since history shows that independence is a natural stage in social development, why not define a process and provide a mentoring or support system by which states can take steps to become self-governing and economically viable, with civil infrastructure and educational and social resources to support a healthy population.
6. Immigration -- Build a series of campus complexes across the Mexican border to create city-states for dual citizens to live legally while accessing educational and work opportunities, health care and other services. U.S. Residents and businesses that have committed violations of immigration laws can either provide voluntary or mandatory restitution in the form of community service hours or investing money or other resources to build ';North Mexico'; so that no one has to break the law in order to seek a better life. The border state will include a maximum security prison system and correctional facility, so that the armed prison guards will double as border patrol. Inmates will include sex offenders, who need to be segregated from the general population while seeking therapy, and violent conflicts who will lose their citizenship for the duration of their sentence, to create a space for an immigrant applying for citizenship who wants to be a law-abiding productive member of society. So this system would enforce respect for laws as the requirement of citizenship by rewarding civil behavior and punishing violation or abuse of rights and freedoms by loss of citizenship and serving time across the border.
7. For sex offenders who have committed rape or murder, these convicts could serve restitution by working in factories in place of child laborers. So in place of the lives or childhood dreams they destroyed, they can save the lives of young children otherwise sold into slavery or sex trafficking, who can then go to school and get an education to have a better life. So I would propose this system as a joint program between the government, which would provide the military security, and the Catholic church which supports immigrant services, is opposed to the death penalty, and believes in restitution and rehabilitation.
8. Constitutional reform, education, and compliance - I would support legislation that requires corporations and citizens to respect the same Constitutional rights and freedoms required of government, including the Bill of Rights and the Code of Ethics for Government Service. Set up a grievance process for Constitutional compliance, modeled after OSHA process, and mediation process that requires consensus to resolve conflicts between parties. Any state or community, local or foreign, where corporations enjoy Constitutional rights and freedoms, the local population would be guaranteed the same. I would also apply the petitioning and mediation process to help embattled regions worldwide to resolve political and religious conflicts. For local areas, such as the Headwaters Redwood Forest in California and Freedmen's Town in Houston, restitution for corporate and government abuses of public resources and civil rights would be invested in preserving these areas as National Parks. All government agencies and institutions would be reviewed for Constitutional compliance or violation, and reformed or removed accordingly and/or replaced with an appropriate private or nonprofit organization funded voluntarily instead of with public taxes.
9. Invest medical research into documenting the existence and treatment of spiritual ';viruses'; or negative ';demonic'; energies that cause mental and criminal illness and addictions so proper treatment can be made accessible to prevent victims of these. Addicts or offenders or their families could be required to report crimes in order for convicts to qualify to serve sentences locally if they cooperate with authorities; while those who evade the law or obstruct justice would lose the right to citizenship and be forced to serve time in foreign prisons for the length of the sentence. This would encourage people to come forward to receive treatment for criminal addiction or illness, and provide harsher punishment to those who refuse to seek help to change their behavior.
10. Tax reform -- legislation that allows citizens to choose options to fund that do not violate their religious beliefs, such as those alternatives mentioned above: life in foreign labor or community service as an alternative to capital punishment; service in the peace force as opposed to military and war; options to fund private schools, private prisons, privatized social security that recognizes same sex partnerships and benefits; more effective sex and spiritual education to prevent abandoned children, unwanted pregnancies, and abortions, etc. Instead of punishing tax evasion by imprisonment, restitution or fines could be paid into funding alternative solutions and programs listed above.What if the president of your country asked you for your advice?
id say stop playing army with the lives of others we lost many in 911 but you are personaly responsible for many more and hold the power of the people in your hands and the people are hungry here at home and dont care about your agenda as it is no longer ours.we the people voted and our votes didnt count.so run,run fast and swift and you may live!or we may send you to the very place you call our enamy and let them judge you.billions are spent on war what is the prize in this one.and will we still be hungry.as im sure the familys that have lost there loved ones are at this very moment as there is no reward for being a soldier under the comand of a fool.
I would have to tell the Shrub to go **** himself.
access to good education....like a way to afford college...it shouldn't be so frickin expensive
Get out of our private lives and stop trying to protect us from ourselves. Shrink the government, really shrink it. Not some piddling little reorganization that doesn't do anything, cut it by a third or a half. Then start teaching people to rely on themselves again, not the government. Teach them how to earn a living and how to stand up for themselves. Do a complete investigation of each and every political person and party. Disband, financially break and imprison the crooks in our government. And lastly, really punish criminals. Make the punishment fit the crime so that people think twice before commiting crimes.
1. Build more teaching hospitals that provide scholarships to interns in medical education in exchange for service in public health care. Reduce class sizes in schools to create more jobs for more teachers while providing better education and individual attention to students. Promote peer mediation and means for school communities to vote on or decide their own policies on prayer and religion, sex education, creation/evolution, etc.
This would encourage people to come forward to receive treatment for criminal addiction or illness, and provide harsher punishment to those who refuse to seek help to change their behavior.
10. Tax reform -- legislation that allows citizens to choose options to fund that do not violate their religious beliefs, such as those alternatives mentioned above: life in foreign labor or community service as an alternative to capital punishment; service in the peace force as opposed to military and war; options to fund private schools, private prisons, privatized social security that recognizes same sex partnerships and benefits; more effective sex and spiritual education to prevent abandoned children, unwanted pregnancies, and abortions, etc. Instead of punishing tax evasion by imprisonment, restitution or fines could be paid into funding alternative solutions and programs listed above.What if the president of your country asked you for your advice?
id say stop playing army with the lives of others we lost many in 911 but you are personaly responsible for many more and hold the power of the people in your hands and the people are hungry here at home and dont care about your agenda as it is no longer ours.we the people voted and our votes didnt count.so run,run fast and swift and you may live!or we may send you to the very place you call our enamy and let them judge you.billions are spent on war what is the prize in this one.and will we still be hungry.as im sure the familys that have lost there loved ones are at this very moment as there is no reward for being a soldier under the comand of a fool.
I would have to tell the Shrub to go **** himself.
access to good education....like a way to afford college...it shouldn't be so frickin expensive
Get out of our private lives and stop trying to protect us from ourselves. Shrink the government, really shrink it. Not some piddling little reorganization that doesn't do anything, cut it by a third or a half. Then start teaching people to rely on themselves again, not the government. Teach them how to earn a living and how to stand up for themselves. Do a complete investigation of each and every political person and party. Disband, financially break and imprison the crooks in our government. And lastly, really punish criminals. Make the punishment fit the crime so that people think twice before commiting crimes.
How can I make JV track as a freshman, and what advice do you have for getting faster?
I haven't been running much lately but in 6th grade I could run a 6 minute mile. In 7th grade I snapped my achilles tendon and spring ligament and was in a cast practically all year.. for 8th grade I was running 8 minute miles.. any advice for how I can get back into shape this year?How can I make JV track as a freshman, and what advice do you have for getting faster?
What were you doing in 6th grade? I hope you did your rehab. It sounds like it worked for you. If you went a year without doing anything and then another year where you weren't in shape, do what you did to get in shape for 6th grade.
Or if you didn't do anything is 6th grade do this now:
1) Run easily until you get tired then walk until your pulse drops under 130 then continue doing it until you 've run for 1/2 an hour.
2) Continue that until you can run the the 1/2 hour without stopping.
3) Increase your time running by no more than 10% a week till you get to 45 minutes to an hour.
4) Throughout all this, take a day off once a week. If your legs start to feel dead or you are tired at the begining of your run or you are not going as far as you had been you need to run less or slower. Cut what you are doing by 50% for a week, the next week do 75% and then continue with the same distance but slower. Good luck!How can I make JV track as a freshman, and what advice do you have for getting faster?
If you do long events like the mile, you should try to join your school's cross country team! That is the BEST way to get in shape, plus you will get to know your coaches and other runners who will be doing track. In cross country races are 3 miles long, and in practice you might run up to 7 miles. The season ends about October, so after that just try to run a few times a week until track starts to keep your fitness.
If you decide not to do cross country, just get running! Start out by running a mile every other day and don't walk. Every week go a little farther, maybe 2 miles, then 2.5 and so on. As long as you run regularly you will be in shape by track.
What is the best advice you can give a new parent?
What is the best advice you can give a new parent? My husband's cousin and his wife are having a baby within 2 months. I feel like I am forgetting some important advice. I want to make sure that they know what they need to know. They are young..first baby. What is the best advice to give? What do you wish someone told you when you were a new parent?What is the best advice you can give a new parent?
I think the best advice is ';this too shall pass';. When the baby is cranky or sick and they cannot get him/her to sleep, these rough times shall pass. You get the strength from your deep love for your child to survive all the difficult times. But it works the other way as well and they should embrace every wonderful moment. There will be a day when their baby does not want them to kiss his/her boo boos anymore. One day their baby will come home from school not with a picture that is not intended for mom but for a treasured best friend. Milestones pass quickly so they should cherish every moment. The only thing that does not pass is that they will never sleep as deeply and as soundly as they did before they became parents. It will not matter if their child is a newborn or off at college, once a person becomes a parent, even while asleep they are still a parent.What is the best advice you can give a new parent?
The best advice I every got is something I still carry with me and my kids are nearly 6 and 8 now. When my kids were very young and my husband was traveling internationally for work nearly every month, and I was up all night and exhausted and I felt like ';What have I done!'; A good friend once put her hand on my shoulder and said to me ';Just remember: it's a season. It will pass.'; Sure enough, it did. All the things that seemed so monumental: will he ever be potty trained? Why doesn't he sleep through the night? Why does he bite other kids? When will he finally talk? What am I going to do about his tantrums? etc etc etc All those things that I spent so much time and energy worrying about eventually passed and each challenge ended and gave way to a new one. Likewise, the good and special times are ';seasons'; too and, sadly, they also pass quickly, so it's important to treasure ALL parts of the journey. I wish I had spent less time focusing on the work and the ';hard stuff'; and the worries and I wish I would have just had faith in my own parenting and in my kids and that I would have just simply enjoyed those early years more. I know it's a simple message but I still repeat it to myself every time they go through a stage ';It's a season!';
the best advice i would give is to tell them that it is their baby not anyone elses and to do what works for them. if that means the baby sleeps with them so be it, if it means the baby is bottle fed so be it. if it means that they only use certain products or buy cotton clothing so be it. the advice is to do what they think is best and to ignore everyone elses judgements. listen to what others say but remember it is easy to give advice when the baby doesnt belong to them. no one knows your baby like you do. stand up to those who accuse you of doing the wrong thing, unless of course you are causing your baby harm or neglect. enjoy your baby and relax. just know that your baby loves you regardless of your sometimes bumbled efforts to look after them. get as much sleep as you can and dont feel guilty if breastfeeding doesnt work. that is what i would tell them. and for the labour i would tell her to take some lip balm because here where i live its natural childbirth, no epidurals and you get very cracked lips with that huffing an puffing. ! all the best.
Make sure if you are a parent that you know how to fight with your spouse well. I mean fight with no raising of your voice and no calling each other bad names. The worse thing a parent can do is fight like a child in front of their kids but almost everyone does and then they wonder why their kids has real bad emotional problems
never get the baby used to the quiet or he'll never sleep!! i wish someone would've told me that! lol :)
What is the best advice for getting you house organized for back to school?
I have a space designated for back packs. The kids put all their stuff there, so when it is time to go to the bus they have everything together. On weekends they keep their backpacks in their closets in their room, but during the week they are out and ready to go!
For homework, I have a set of plastic drawers with pencils, crayons, scissors, glue, paper, etc. Basically whatever they need to do their homework is in one place so we don't have to look all over for a ruler or a sharpened pencil.
I also like to organize my refrigerator and pantry. My kids pack their lunches most of the time, so I like to make sure I am stocked up with all their lunch box favorites.What is the best advice for getting you house organized for back to school?
Advise is great on organizing but you have to do what's going to work best for you. Take suggestions for what they are, something that has worked for someone else, they may not work for you. But this is great because it's like brainstorming. Someone says something and it gives you a thought of how you could do it. Go with that thought.
That said, some ideas:
1) each kid should have their own cubby, a place for them to unload after school. Backpacks, shoes, coats, whatever.
2) before bedtime ask your kids to make sure their bag is packed for in the morning, like before bath time or what ever. This is one less thing to do in the morning.
3) If you have older kids, have them make their own lunches. I liked having lunchmeat and cheese in one baggie and my bread in another, then at lunch I made my sandwich (I hate soggy sandwiches). You can prep the baggies ahead of time, like when you get home from the store.
4) Someone else mentioned the drawers for everything. To up that idea a little make sure kids have a work space to do their homework where they can work uninterupted. don't let kids do homework in front of the TV. tell them it will get done faster if they just concentrate on it. It's a good idea for kids to have their own workspace so if they can have a desk in their room all that much better. It's private and personal.
5) If you show good organizing habits to your kids they are more likely to pick them up and then their lives can be more successful because they are more organized and better prepared for it.
Good luck! I hope I've got your wheels turning.printer cartridge
What words of advice can you give me?
My superviser is going to retire in six months. Since he anounced it people have been saying ';I hear you will be takeing over when he leaves';. This has comes from people that I work directly with and other people in the building. I just say that is what I keep hearin.
I work in a large hospital and the position would involve superviseing around eightteen people.
Let me know what you have to say.What words of advice can you give me?
You might want to learn how to spell first, then speak to your director directly. I am sure that he would give you an adequate amount of time to make the decision. I dont think a supervisor would just throw you in to a supervising position. Do you want the position? You have to think of the benefits of it and what you want to do.What words of advice can you give me?
I would bring it up with the person who actually makes that decision. Let them know that these rumors are floating around and you want to know more. If you are interested in the position, then express that interest. If you are not, then be sure to let that person know you are not interested. Either way, best to get it straight before hard feelings start to develop...
Don't count your chickens before they hatch. If you want the job, keep quiet. Don't get cocky. The ';higher ups'; may be watching you to determine how you handle the announcement before making a decision about the replacement. If you seem over eager or egotistic, they may hire outside the co. Or if you act like you don't want it, they may assume that you indeed do not want the job and hire someone else. I like your current response of ';that's what I keep hearing'; Good luck!!
good luck for ur future promotion,dont get ur yourself bossy to other colleagues,be with them as you r with them now.
How would you advice people who hear voices?
I answer questions on the mental health category...and I hesitate to suggest that their voices might be spirits (but sometimes I do) Just don't want to lead anyone astray. I always tell them to go to their family dr. too about it. You know psychiatrist don't believe about spirits. How would you advise them?How would you advice people who hear voices?
it would depend. Most medical cases talk back to their voices. they are carrying on a conversation with themselves. But people who hear spirit voices usually dont talk back to them. After all, you wouldnt want to ecourage a spirit. You would ignore them as much as you can.How would you advice people who hear voices?
Ask them to wear industrial ear plugs or mufflers.
Well if they don't seem crazy I tell them is not that uncommon. But you will find that they have other paranormal abilities too. For me it's not that weird my family is full of psychics, astrologers, witches and the like. If they are the real thing I just tell them to get used to it. It won't go away. Some people it does drive crazy if they don't learn to live with it.
Any more questions? I drank to muck coffee today. I'll be up for awhile!
I don't think that anyone really knows for sure. You have to know the total of combined behavior.
However, There is a h igh incidence of ';Psychic Phenomenon'; amongst people that are bi-polar or manic depressives. I also always mention that....
What are the voices saying is another important question when answering someone that is experiencing claire-audience.
Beyond wishful thinking there is no reason to think spirits exist, much less talk to people. If someone believes spirits are talking to them it is far more reasonable to believe that the person is experiencing a mental or neurological malady than it is to think they are the receiver of supernatural messages.
If you wish to cure someone of any kind of illness it's always best to stick with reality. While it is most kind of you to offer your sympathy, it is extremely irresponsible to give them advice that hinges on supernatural modality.
Seek a mental health professional
I would tell them to see a doctor.To advise them it's a spirit.That would be irresponsible for anyone.Criminal for a professional.
give them your phone number, be their friend.
Well it depends on how real the voices are. If they are kind of like ';imagined';, like the same way your internal monologue sounds (but of course with a different voice), then you may just be an eccentric or confused person and you are hearing your own thoughts just with someone else's voice. That is more common than it sounds though. A lot of people occasionally think things in the voice of a person they know who usually says that, or something along those lines.
But if you're actually hearing them, then it's hallucinations and you should probably be taking some antipsychotics. I know the last thing anybody wants to think is that there is something wrong with their head, but tell them not to worry, there is something wrong with everyone's head. It's just that some people hear voices and some people are assholes.
Since there is absolutely no scientific evidence for spirits let alone that spirits can talk to us, then advising a potentially mentally ill person that they are hearing spirits is highly irresponsible. You may be setting them up to do something very unfortunate to themselves or to others simply because they think they should obey the spirit voices they think they are hearing.
I guess it would depend on what the voices are saying. If they are premonitory then I would suggest going to a psychic for clarification....if the neighbors dog is talking to them.....go see a shrink.
ThanksWhat is some advice you would give to others about life?
Be alert to what is going on around you and in your life.
Live every minute to the fullest.
Take advantage of all opportunities.
Love everyone with all your heart.
Accept your friends and family for who they are and love them for it.
Ignore the stuff you don't like.
Love the Lord and learn what He wants for you.
Learn all you can about everything.
Know how to be patient and practice it.
Be honest.What is some advice you would give to others about life?
wow that answer that u picked was actually very simple yet so enlightening to me
';If what you have to say about a person is such that you wouldn't say it to their face, keep it to yourself. After all, do you like people saying ugly about you when you're not around?';
';Always be kind to others; even if they are not kind in return.';
';Have compassion on those who are less fortunate.';
';Be true to who you are and do not allow people to have a negative influence on you.';
';Don't be too sensitive. Everyone makes mistakes including you.';
Hello, If he is faster than you shout from a very long way.lol Above all have a profession that you really enjoy as it's a lifespan task. Don't spend more than you earn, don't be taken in by what others have got because all that glitters is not gold, on the way up help them that you past as you will want them on the way back ';maybe';. Try not to keep all your eggs in one basket, greet with a smile';even with that hangover'; you will be s*hit on a few times keep those who do it close than you see it coming next time.
Experience EVERYTHING you have a chance to experience, you'll regret the things you never done.
Live in the moment, yesterdays gone nothing you can do about it, Tomorrow's not here why worry about it, Live for today and do all you can do, be all you can be, and have fun with life.................................
Things may seem safe may not be so. The Lehman case is a good example when you put the full trust in the banks, you throw almost all of your life saving into it so that the earning will get through the later part of your life. Pity for those who done so. What I wish to bring out is, do not put all or invest all saving in one trust of bank. Spread it out. Banks are no longer safe. Properties may not be safe and it can depreciate all of a sudden. Do not be greedy. Do not trust and put money into organisation that promise impossible good returns.
Don't make your job your life and don't live for it. Of course, do the best to your abilities, but don't sell your soul to any company.
Don't stay at any company if you feel you're stagnating.
Create a life outside the workplace.
Know what you're capable of doing, but don't be afraid to take risks. Even if the risk you've made is a mistake, it's part of the growing process of life.
It's always dark before the dawn. Trust in the dawn.
When one door closes another one will open wider.
Don't be afraid to explore new adventures. Challenge yourself.
Don't jump too quick. Find things that make you happy. Choose your soul mate carefully. Love yourself. Don't set goals too high. Have faith that you know what you are doing. Be forgiving. Never judge.Don't take things for granted. Be kind but not humble. Helpful but not become a rug. Don't make a decision before thinking it over. You don't have to love or like anyone but never hate. Try to be honest in everything. That little white lie you tell to spare someone won't send you to hell. Be smart, be kind to yourself, take care of yourself. There is no promise of a happy life. Happy New Year. Poppy
Be respectful, honest, and truthful to yourself, and about yourself. Doing this draws others who think and feel the same to you. One last big one. if you are with someone, don't cheat on them. If you have fallen out of love with them break it off before you start a relationship with someone else. Basically it all boils down to, treat others as you wish to be treated. Oh yeah I almost forgot, use a cab or a designated driver any time you drink, have fun and Happy New Year
Be kind and compassionate to other people. Especially those close to you. I have so many regrets about times that I was too harsh or when I kept walking instead of stopping and offering a hand, or simply a kind word and a smile.
Hug your family often and tell them how much you love them because one day they will be gone and it'll be too late to say the things you were always ';going to';.
Don't bother me. I'm living happily ever after. *G*
Put 10% of your income into a sound investment.
I know someone who actually did this. He retired young and he is more than comfortable.
I wish I had done that. I don't think it would have been that difficult.
Be true to your Lord, Country, Family, Friends and yourself. Always give a good day of work for your pay. Don't do you anything that you will later be ashamed of.
Appreciate the important things in life and let the rest go by the wayside. We only have so much time left. Don't fret over the little things.
You come into this world alone with people all around you. You leave it the same way. Don't expect the in-between to be any different.
Don't worry about things you can't control.
Don't believe everything you hear
Learn from your mistakes and don't worry what others say.
Trust your instincts about people, I've found that my first impressions about people are usually spot on, good or bad.
Hello, If he is faster than you shout from a very long way.lol Above all have a profession that you really enjoy as it's a lifespan task. Don't spend more than you earn, don't be taken in by what others have got because all that glitters is not gold, on the way up help them that you past as you will want them on the way back ';maybe';. Try not to keep all your eggs in one basket, greet with a smile';even with that hangover'; you will be s*hit on a few times keep those who do it close than you see it coming next time.
Experience EVERYTHING you have a chance to experience, you'll regret the things you never done.
Live in the moment, yesterdays gone nothing you can do about it, Tomorrow's not here why worry about it, Live for today and do all you can do, be all you can be, and have fun with life.................................
Things may seem safe may not be so. The Lehman case is a good example when you put the full trust in the banks, you throw almost all of your life saving into it so that the earning will get through the later part of your life. Pity for those who done so. What I wish to bring out is, do not put all or invest all saving in one trust of bank. Spread it out. Banks are no longer safe. Properties may not be safe and it can depreciate all of a sudden. Do not be greedy. Do not trust and put money into organisation that promise impossible good returns.
Don't make your job your life and don't live for it. Of course, do the best to your abilities, but don't sell your soul to any company.
