What advice do you have for treating and relieving the pain from a newly arthritic thumb.?

I jarred it 24 years ago and it has been deformed but caused no pain at all until today when I can hardly move it.What advice do you have for treating and relieving the pain from a newly arthritic thumb.?
This does not mean it is ';newly arthritic';, but, as one who also has an arthritic thumb and knees at the age of 37, it won't usually go away without medication. Try the usual Advil or Aspirin; following that, if it persists, see a rheumatologist.What advice do you have for treating and relieving the pain from a newly arthritic thumb.?
