Have you always appreciated it or did it take a lesson to see the significance and importance of it?Men what is the most important piece of advice your daddy gave to you?
I cant remember everything my dad told me, but one of them is ';knowing is different than doing';. A lot of people say i know, i know when their parents suggest to them something or tell them to do something. My dad always told ';well if you know it, then do it!'; actions speak louder than words basicallyMen what is the most important piece of advice your daddy gave to you?
1. ';Must always be able to take care of yourself. Don't expect or rely on anyone else to do it';
Yes, it took only one lesson to learn this, yes, I see the significance in it, and how important and right he was.
2. ';Always tell the truth...you will be in trouble either way, but if you lie you will get in more trouble';
This was significant in my life because as a young child I really took this belief to heart and found that telling the truth often times is worse than telling a lie, and in fact telling the truth has often landed me in hot water in business and my personal life. Many people don't like the truth at all, and hate those who tell it.
Some times it comes right out of my mouth before I can stop it.
Before he passed my father wrote out this poem by Rudyard Kipling and I had it framed:
IF ...
If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:
If you can dream--and not make dreams your master,
If you can think--and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it all on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breath a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: ';Hold on!';
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings--nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much,
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son!
--Rudyard Kipling
Well, my dad was is in prison most of my life or not around and im 16:P but the most important piece of advice he gave me was ';If a guy tells you prove your love to me'; Tell him, ';Have your mom prove her love to you:]P';ahahah.
Naa, my grandma told me that one:)
Two things
1. Never neglect the gift within. Therefore, I am writing my first book.
2. You can tell a person's worth by how many people show up at their funeral.
BTW, we had to have my dad's memorial at the town's largest church to hold everyone.
Being mentally strong is more important than physical strength. That other people's opinions of you are not important at all and that it is very meaningful to not dwell on past disappointments.
Fu Fuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!!!!!!!
';Work hard';
I haven't seen the significance yet but I'm sure I will do.
I don't appreciate it yet, either. But I'm pretty sure it's good advice.
Your ugly, your dumb and you will never amound to anything. If a strange man ask you to get into a car i suggest you take it.
Nah my dad didnt say that his great :)
He said ';it's all about 'the man in the boat' and you ain't done 'till she's done';. This advice has served me through two wives, and many affairs, over 60 years.
That if you let other men out-work you physically at any job or sport than you are a sissy.
hold the drill straigt or you'll **** it up
ahhh its great i can now do just about anything with a drill all because of that advise
another good piece of advise was
just dont let your mother know
have fun while you can (sexually). wwas very important piece of advice, and i am happy i took it.
Respect is more important than love. He both said and showed me this.
I also saw him work around the clock until the day he died, often passing out from exhaustion. His funeral needed to be held three times in two different states, along with more wakes than I knew about. The masion of a house was filled with well-wishers just hours after the announcement of his passing, many in stoic silence.
He had an effect on this world. It was a lesson by demonstration.
If you have sex with a man who refuses to put a ring on your finger, at least get paid each time.
Nothing kills a man more than laziness.
always use protection
lol @ always use protection
men are pigs
go big or stay home. it costs me a lot of money most of the time...
Make me a grandfather as soon as possible
hit the road, kid. and take that damn skateboard with you. i ended up in texas and live behind a mall. kinda just foraging around to eat and that is okay cause i don't need much.
That A man is only as good as his word.
to stand up for myself.
if you cant eat it, dont have sex with it
My father is a d!ck. I would never take any advice from him.
That Jesus died for me and He was God and my real Father all along !
