You should speak with your doctor before you start any new diet and exercise plans, just to be on the safe side.
I would suggest you join a low impact gym, such as 'Curves'. It is a 30 minute circuit training that is for women only. The atmosphere is great and there are women of all shapes, sizes and ages.
Also make sure that you eat a healthy balanced diet, plenty of fruit and veg and regular intake of red meat, chicken and fish.
My best tip, drink plenty of water, it will cleanse your inside and make you feel great! Can you give advice for a good workout plan for a 15 year old female?
For your diet you should eat more protein and less carbs. It's basically following the principle of the Atkins diet. Understand that you need complex carbohydrates such as brown rice, oatmeal, cornmeal, buckwheat, rye, legumes and yams.
I've included a GREAT link to a sample diet that is realistic and healthy. Basically, you have to understand the principles of Atkins. You don't starve yourself. Instead, you fill up on more filling foods that have lower calories (protein and vegetables).
Find an online support group if you don't have one in person. Find that you like. Remember, consistency is one of the most important things with a weight loss program. Doing a little something to improve your habits everyday is the key to your success.
What does that mean?
Try doing exercises you like - walking, cycling, jogging, frisbee golf, etc. If you have access to a gym you could start lifting light weights as the benefits are ginormous. Lifting weights will increase your metabolism for hours.
One of the biggest helps in trying to lose weight: drinking lots of water. Many of the weightloss pills use this angle, they make you thirsty. Strive for about half a gallon a day or 8 8-oz glasses of water. If you remember this one aspect, you will be well on your to losing weight. It is so important to drink lots of water. Not only is it good for overall health, but it's also good for curbing your appetite.
BTW, you can ignore their brand of meal replacement shakes. I'm not trying to plug their products, only their principles of their diet. Protein shakes are a great low calorie source of protein, but you don't need a fancy brand for this.
