I have a Masters in SOcial WOrk and a Bachelors in Sociology %26amp; Social Welfare and stillcan't seem to get accepted into the program.Do you have any advice on getting into Accelrated Nursing Programs?
You don't indicate if this is an RN, BSN, MSN program. You may be perceived as ';overqualified'; if you are applying for an RN. You also don't indicate if you did well in the programs you were in previously - if you did not - this might work against you. You may not be perceived as having enough of a science background. You don't indicate what you are trying to achieve with a nursing degree - nursing may not be the way to go to get where you want to go - maybe the selection committee is picking up on that.
Those are some things to consider.
DADo you have any advice on getting into Accelrated Nursing Programs?
Hey! I got accepted into Texas A%26amp;M's accelerated program..and I start June 2nd. I'm a little baffled as to why you have not been accepted..do you have all your pre-reqs? Nursing schools generally prefer to accept a student who has all their pre-reqs, even if they are B's/C's than a student who has all A's thus far but is currently finishing theirs.
Also, to boost your application, perhaps you could become a CNA or an EMT. I am an EMT and I believe that helped. Or at least shadow or volunteer.
Lastly, apply EVERWHERE, at least in your state so you don't limit your options.
Good Luck!!!
