What advice do you have about getting a bikini wax?

since summer is coming up, i'm going to get a bikini wax. but i need to know if i should trim or how much i should get taken off or how long i'll be red.... anthing else?

The specialist doing the wax will usually have an idea of how much hair to take off.





At the salon, they will ask you to change into some disposable panties, and they will wax the hair that the disposable panties do not cover. If you have any hair on the back of your inner thighs or buttocks, the stylist might ask whether or not you want it removed---go for it! That hair shows when you are wearing a swimsuit as well.





If you still want to ask them to remove a certain amount of hair, try on your swimsuits and note where the hair sticks out.





Don't bother trimming before the wax. The specialist will trim it for you. If you trim the hair yourself and it is too short, the hair will either be left, or the specialist will have to go over that area many times, which hurts very badly.





However, take a pain reliever like Aleve before your appointment. Wear your softest panties and a skirt or very soft pants to the appointment. That way, when you change back into them, they wont rub against the tender skin on your way home.





I have very sensitive skin, but the redness went away in less than 2 days.





After the appointment, the stylist told me to apply aloe (to soothe the skin) and baby powder (to prevent chafing) to the area. If possible, go without panties and pants after the appointment (lounge around at home in a bathrobe) because fabric rubbing against the area causes redness.

trim first, see if you like it - that's cheap %26amp; painless. although like any body hair, you shave/cut/wax, it grows back %26amp; it also tends to itch a bit.





waxing will make the area red for a couple of days, but it certainly looks more natural and keeps longer.





finally, after the wax/trim, whatever you do, flaunt it a bit. wear those barely-there bikinis - it'll totally drive guys nuts..
