I just started potty training my 17 month old. Should I let her go about the house without her diaper or should I use training pants?
My daughter expresses interest in going potty. She says potty and pee. She sits on the potty, but is usually more interested in picking it up and taking it apart.
Does anyone have any potty training tips to share? Can you offer any advice on potty training?
my daughter just turned 2.i let her run around if its just me and my husband in her diaper or naked.she is able to get the potty faster. Can you offer any advice on potty training?
I wouldn't let her go around with out a diaper or underwear. Also, I'd say yes to going out and getting her underwear and pull ups for at night. Put her on the potty every 30mins or so, but if potty training her at 17months doesn't work don't stress about it. You at least want her potty trained by 2 or you want be started by 2. So if it's not working at 17 months that's fine. Some kids are ready to start then and some are not.
Hoped I helped and happy potty training.
ok well i babysit for a 3 year old who is totally potty trained. what they did was have a sticker chart. each time she used the bathroom she got a hello kitty sticker [her favorite] and they allowed her to put it on the chart herself [she loved it] they also gave her an m %26amp; m when she used the bathroom... she wore underwear during the day and pull ups at night. you should let her wear underwear during the day but ask her if she has to go to the bathroom lot [sometimes they don't realize they have to go] and before they eat [they get so busy in what they are doing they forget about everything else] make sure when she does use the potty that you tell her she did good and she did what she was supposed to. when you are young you want nothing more than your parents approval and praise. tell her big girl underwear is a privilege. and she can ONLY wear them if she does not go in them. start her at only the house with underwear. if she does really good then try using them outside of the house sometimes. the rewards thing helps a lot. :]
let her get comfortable with her body -it's healthy for the skin to be out of paper periodically. relax and let her body mature at its own pace. she has already started, so continue to encourage.
