Any tips?Do you have any advice on packing for a move?
This is the travel section, but I'd be happy to help you out.
First thing, all knick-knacks, photo albums, decorations, and stuff that's not used but takes up space should be the first things packed. Any clothes that you don't need on a daily basis (uniforms, underwear, shoes, swimsuits, etc) should be packed.
As you get closer, get together a week's worth of clothes and necessities and pack absolutely everything else. Bust out your travel shampoos and lotions and pack everything else in boxes. If you have to clean before you leave, then leave your cleaning supplies, but pre-pack them in a box, just don't seal it up.
If you have mixed boxed, it's also nice to make notes to place at the top of the box before you seal it. If you have a laptop, you can also take notes on there.
Get rid of anything you haven't worn in 2 years (that's not special occasion).
Get rid of any books/magazines that you don't need.
Go through your paperwork and shred anything tax related that's older than 7 years old.
Go through and shred credit card statements, bank statements, and similar things from 2007 and earlier.
Dishes %26amp; glassware take forever to pack. Do those now. Either keep 2 out (2 plates, 2 bowls, 2 glasses, 2 mugs) or pack all of them and use plastic/paper goods instead. A week out, pack your pots %26amp; pans and eat premade or eat out instead.
Pack daily use things together or near each other. Start making lists in your head of the things that you'll want right away when you get to the new place.
Have a safe move!Do you have any advice on packing for a move?
i am moving in a week.....and my mom packed a month before..because we might have moved earlier. It caused chaos for me....i couldnt find anything....my mom packed all my clothes...well almost all...and i was freaking out!
My suggestion is to wait another week.....itz February and there are only 28 days...just wait one more week.
You can make things a lot easier by having a quick yard sale and unloading things you either don't need or you can replace easily at your final destination.
